Last night, we had the honor of hosting Ian Goldin, a global thinker, author of 23 books, and one of the world’s leading voices on globalization, challenges and opportunities shaping our future. Mr. Goldin’s speech was held in a format of a journey through the rapid changes our world is undergoing and the urgent actions needed to adapt and thrive in the 21st century.
As the world changes at an unprecedented pace, Ian Goldin’s message was clear: we need to rethink our priorities, adapt faster, and prepare for the realities of the 21st century.
Mr. Goldin highlighted that many of our current systems—hospitals, banks, transportation, and energy—are not fit for the challenges of the future, stressing that we must overhaul and modernize these systems to avoid being left behind. He also pointed out how outdated educational systems are, and the most successful states are those that adapt quickly.
Ian Goldin emphasized that climate change is of the most significant threats humanity faces, calling for accelerated investments in sustainable technologies and infrastructure. Mr. Goldin praised Asia as an example, where countries that prioritize rapid investment consistently stay ahead with innovative infrastructure.
One of the more sobering points Mr. Goldin made was his critique of Britain’s decision to leave Europe, which he described as a mistake rooted in the global economic crisis. This serves as a reminder of the far-reaching consequences of political and economic decisions during times of uncertainty.
