'The Defence of the UK Begins in Ukraine' - Chair of the Defence Committee made a powerful statement at our recent event. 

We are thrilled to share insights from our recent panel discussion, "Security and Prosperity – Delivering a Long-Term UK-Ukraine Strategic Partnership," held during Ukraine Day at the Annual Labour Party Conference on the 24th of September. This event, hosted by CEO Club London in partnership with BGV Group, brought together key voices to explore the enduring collaboration between the UK and Ukraine. 

Among the speakers there were:

🔹Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP, Chair, Defence Committee;

🔹The discussion was moderated by Jade McGlynn, Author and Research Fellow at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London

Our speakers noted that both nations can exchange a wealth of knowledge and innovation. For example, the UK stands to gain invaluable insights from Ukraine's pioneering approaches to military strategy and technological advancements in defence. Conversely, Ukraine can benefit from the UK’s experience in governance and economic development. The speakers emphasized that economic and trade cooperation between the UK and Ukraine has a 150-year history.

A significant theme of our discussion was the importance of solidarity among nations opposing aggression. Strengthening our partnership not only bolsters Ukraine’s resilience but also reinforces the UK’s own security. Together, we can ensure that those who stand against threats are equipped to protect our shared future.

Classic English humor, a history that truly matters and a relevant discussion is what marked the 17th of September at the CEO Club London. We’ve begun a new season of events with an open discussion “Behind the Scenes at the House of Lords. Strategic and Policy support for Ukraine”. 

Lord Glasman from the Labour Party and Lord Wharton from the Conservative Party came together to be our speakers and represent the House of Lords providing a comprehensive view from the both parties. We’ve discussed the history of the House of Lords and how it formed, the role of the House of Lords in shaping the UK politics, membership of the House. The second part of the discussion covered strategic partnership between the UK and Ukraine, how it can be filled with practical steps to ensure the success, what would be the next steps in cooperation.

We had an absolutely thrilling clay shooting session at Bisley Shooting Ground on Tuesday, August 27th! The competition, organized by the CEO Club London, was a fantastic opportunity to test members' skills in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere.

This morning was especially productive for the CEO Club Members as we held a Morning Coffee online event and had the pleasure of hosting two esteemed speakers:

Denys Demko - 1st Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Ukraine in London
Daniel Carden - British Labour Party politician and Member of Parliament for Liverpool Walton

The event focused on the future of economic relations between the UK and Ukraine, offering valuable perspectives on:
- The prospects and challenges post-elections for both nations
- Expectations surrounding the signing of a new bilateral agreement
- Updates on the implementation of existing economic, investment, and business initiatives
- Strategies for enhancing UK-Ukraine business cooperation

Key takeaways included the need for stronger collaboration in the investment and business sectors, with both countries committed to fostering closer economic ties.

On July 16th, CEO Club London hosted an exclusive Business Breakfast, bringing together our esteemed members for a deep dive into the world of angel investments.  

At this engaging event, our distinguished speaker, Rinat Abdrasilov, a renowned Strategy and Digital Transformation Management Consultant and Non-Executive Director, shared his invaluable insights. With over 25 years of experience across executive and non-executive roles in diverse industries, Rinat has been instrumental in guiding organizations from start-ups to FTSE100 companies.

Rinat's presentation covered the role of Angel Investors and improved our understanding of how they provide crucial early-stage capital to startups and the strategic value they bring beyond just funding. We also covered some trends in Angel Investing and sectors attracting the most attention, and strategies for both investors and entrepreneurs to ensure mutual growth and success, highlighting case studies from Rinat’s extensive career. We thank Andrii Zhahlov for moderating the session, asking topical questions and contributing to the discussion based on his extensive knowledge.

CEO Club London was honoured to sponsor the Hertford Literature Festival, a remarkable event that celebrated literary excellence and fostered vibrant discussions. This year, the festival highlighted a pressing global issue – the Ukrainian children kidnapped by russia.

The festival featured a series of thought-provoking discussions dedicated to raising awareness and exploring actionable solutions to reunite these children with their families. The conversation also focused on the critical need to hold putin and the russian state accountable for their actions.

CEO Club London hosted an AI expert Volodymyr Bandura at our recent event! Many of you may recognize Volodymyr for scripting robot Sophia’s first appearance in Ukraine back in 2018. But his accomplishments extend far beyond that. As the head of Innolytics Group, Volodymyr leads the way in AI solutions and technological competitive research. He’s also a global ambassador for Singularity University, co-founded by Ray Kurzweil.

During his presentation, Volodymyr highlighted that the AI revolution is here, with tools that are already revolutionizing businesses and offering unprecedented opportunities. He showcased practical examples of this impact and emphasized that AI solutions have become significantly more powerful and practical than last year, thanks to enormous investments in this field. Looking ahead, he discussed the future generations of AI models, specifically mentioning GPT-5, which is expected to be a substantial improvement over GPT-4, similar to the leap from GPT-3 to GPT-4. Volodymyr explained what this means for practical applications and explored potential outcomes with Universal AI and Superintelligence, including scenarios where AI systems reach or surpass human expertise combined with advanced robotics. Additionally, he discussed the significant changes these AI advancements could bring to politics and geopolitics.

Morning Coffee Online: Insights from the House of Lords 

CEO Club Members had the privilege of attending an enlightening event with a distinguished member of the House of Lords, Lord Glasman, representing the Labour Party, which recently won the elections.

During his address, he discussed the transformative impact these elections will have on the UK and their significant influence on Ukraine. It was inspiring to hear his commitment to supporting Ukraine and reaffirming that the UK is ready to lead in providing aid and assistance.

The Labour Party's victory heralds a new era of cooperation and support for Ukraine, demonstrating the UK's steadfast dedication to international solidarity and leadership.
